Foundation

The “Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau” Foundation was established in 1993 by the Free State of Saxony as a dependent foundation under public law within the scope of the Saxon State Ministry of Finance. Its property includes the Muskau Park as well as the gardens and buildings west of the Lusatian Neisse. The Foundation’s mission is to historically restore and preserve the Muskau Park complex, which is of national cultural and historical importance. At the same time, it aims to maintain and administer the Garden Art Monument in partnership with the Republic of Poland – particularly in accordance with the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. The Convention establishes the protection of cultural and natural heritage sites of exceptional international significance.

Sponsoring Association

The Förderverein Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau e. V. was founded on 1 May 2004 with the aim of helping to preserve Pückler’s cultural and historical heritage and supporting the work of the “Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau” foundation. Thanks to regular fundraising campaigns, various projects have already been completed. These include the repositioning of the two lions on the ramp of the castle, the restoration of the entrance to the Old Castle and the restoration of the dome containing the iron vitriol spring in the swimming area.

The association will continue to support the projects in the swimming area, including the restoration of a circular historical bench designed by Schinkel. In addition to supporting specific construction projects, the association supports cultural events and organises the Muskauer Schlossgespräche (“Muskau Palace Talks”) in the New Castle together with the Foundation. Anyone who would like to contribute to the content and organisational activities can join the association as an active member or as a supporting member. Donations are always welcome. Due to its non-profit status, the association is entitled to issue donation receipts for membership fees and donations according to § 50 Abs. 1 EStDV (“German Income Tax Regulation”).
