Park Neuhardenberg
To the east of Berlin lies Neuhardenberg Castle and its Park. The ensemble is the result of a group effort by renowned 19th-century architects and landscapers: the castle's owner Prince Karl August von Hardenberg engaged an illustrious list of names to work for him: Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Peter Joseph Lenné, John Adey Repton, and his own son-in-law, Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau.

"Pückler's Clearing" in Ettersburg and other parks in Thuringia
Pückler advised many aristocratic families in Thuringia on the layout of their gardens. One was Hereditary Grand Duke Carl Alexander, for whom Pückler had over 3000 trees felled, creating the so-called "Pücklerschlag," or Pückler's Clearing. His influence can also be seen in Wilhelmsthal near Eisenach and in Reinhardsbrunn Park.
